| Called here hungry after a long walk over the Clent hills. Spacious pub, Quite a few people in and an excellent presentation of the menu document. Discovered too late that it was yet another 'MICROWAVE PUB ' with only microwave technicians to cook.- no proper chef. I had a ham and mushroom omelette. It was grosse. Rubbery, hard, egg with a few squares, probably about ten grammes of ham about 8mm square and 1mm thick, and less than one button mushroom, very thinly sliced. Staff were all youngsters who did lip service to customers, but clearly didn't care. Would not go again. hildata - 8 Mar 2010 11:23 |
| Pleasant ambience and reasonable food without being too expensive. My wife had the braised steak which came nested in a large yorkshire pudding and served with optional new potatoes and vegetables... The steak was tender but the gravy a little salty. The potatoes tasted freshly boiled and were without that 'standing around for ages' flavour that so often accompanies pub food. The sweetcorn and peas were frozen/canned. I had the 10oz rump steak which came well done despite being ordered as medium. Also it was difficult to believe that it was actually a 10oz steak. Not the most tender of steaks I've eaten but not the worst either. The mark up on the Austrailian red wine was not outrageous as it is in some pubs in the vicinity. KMacca - 15 Feb 2009 15:29 |
