user reviews of the Angerstein, Greenwich

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Friendly landlord, scaffolder punters, black painted wood everywhere, dreadful pint of Courage Best.

This is a large high ceilinged ex hotel pub that has been recently redecorated making it a very comfortable place to have a few beers with friends. The large island bar was being run by a very friendly barmaid during my visit, but although there are three hand pumps unfortunately only Courage Best was available on the ale front. San Miguel was also available alongside an extensive standard draught range.

There are a couple of plasma screens which were showing VH1 classic during my visit, but I think that these are really there for the Sky Sports which is advertised. There is also a small pool table to the right of the bar and a dartboard on the stage by the front window to the left of the bar.

This pub isn’t in the most aesthetically pleasing area being situated on the approach to the Blackwall Tunnel, but it is a nice pub and worth a visit if passing.

back in the nineties this was a rough and ready locals boozer, i havn't been in here sinse those days but from driving past regularly it's been tidied up on the outside, with a very nice looking seating area

If you want to have an upbeat and unforgetable night, meet loads of different people and dance the night away then this is the place to go! Live music and discos on fridays and saturdays... nothing beats it!
