A newly-reopened modern bar which open plan with a seated area for dining. Formerly known as The Whistle Stop (which had a dodgy rep), it features a fairly large bar area with high stools and leather sofas - quite posh!

There's also an upstairs function room and a small outside drinking area. Beers on draught include Heineken, Becks Vier (dead new and very trendy), London Pride and at least one other cask ale on handpump. Beers and wines are well-priced with Pride on at 2 a pint (cheap for the area).

The site is very old, the new place taking its name from one of the first inns on the site long ago. It can be pretty quiet on weeknights but the staff seem friendly enough. I'd say it would now attract a thirty or forty-something crowd with a few quid to spend. As it's early days (only reopened recently), it's yet to get on the circuit which is a good thing.

It's across the road from the King's Arms (Badger beers) and next door to the Liongate Hotel so it's easy to include it on a crawl of the area. Hampton Court itself has a good many pubs and some of them are even quite good!
