Nice little boozer but a disapointing ale selection.
4 hand pumps. 1 for London Pride, 1 for Courage Directors,
1 for Theakstons BB and 1 for Theakstons XB.
I had a pint of the latter which was ok but not great and cost £2.95.
About ten others in but only me and another guy were watching the Chelsea v Arsenal game on the large plasma TV. Others were eating.

Fond memories of 24 Nov 2008 - the pub hosted a 9-a-side Northants v Sussex bar billiards challenge. We must have been mad to make a 280-mile round journey but the company was superb and we were well looked after, the evening culminating in a sumptuous curry for all the players. The right-hand bar was perfect for such an event.

re-visited recently to find that since our last visit the placed had closed and recently re opened. Didnt try the food. Beer ok not as much choice as last time. Seems to be struggling.

Visited twice on consecutive nights, Thursday and a Friday. The pub has recently (Dec09) reopened with new tennants and has been fully refurbished. The building is the old police station and judges court combined. The old Court House has been tastefully converted to a dining room. There were 4 real ales on tap all from the Caledonian brewery. Tried the Autumn Red which was very nice. All the beers were well kept and in good condition. We received a friendly welcome on the first night and decided to return for a meal on the second night. we werent disappointed. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. A 10oz Sirloin steak for under a tenner!! We will definately go back. Well worth a visit for the food and/or the beers.
