A lively little place with a mixture of tourists and locals when we visited. Pint was a good one too. 8/10 montie49 - 24 Sep 2011 10:15
This is real pub.Great and varied ever changing selection of locally brewed excellent quality ales, real open fire when it's required, efficient, genuinely friendly service and an accommodating landlord. Proper atmosphere and real people. avanuva1 - 14 Mar 2011 13:18
Excellent pint of Hartland Forge IPA. The pint I've been yearning for in all my years of visiting Bideford. This is a very friendly pub, the best in town in my view. Sad that Dexter the pub dog has passed away - but nice to see one of the Jollyboat pump clips dedicated to the old lad. Albert_Campion - 23 Aug 2010 22:15
This is a locals local, but the welcome is always friendly. Three real ales - Rosey Nosey was a bit off but the Hobgoblin and the Jollyboat were fine. Also has a roaring fire with a geriatric dog lolling around in front of it. Good stuff. Albert_Campion - 8 Jan 2010 18:34
Used this pub several times whilst in town. Welcoming landlord and staff. Does not pretend to be anything other than a proper pub. Nothing fancy and good on them. Invisible_Rabbit - 26 Jul 2009 18:32
