user reviews of the Bricklayers Arms, Ruddington

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Firstly, this pub is now called 'The Frame Breakers' (a tribute to this areas 'Luddite' history). I understand it was bought and renovated a few years back by The Nottingham brewery.
Secondly, you must pay this pub a visit, as it is a cracking place with as many beers, lagers and ciders on offer as I have seen for a while (on par with a 'spoons' beer selection). Everything feels wright about this pub. It is a large pub with two main rooms and a central bar. Good mix of drinkers of all ages on a Saturday lunch when I visited with family. The bar staff are really knowledgeable and helpful, the chef obviously knows his stuff because he was very helpful regarding a gluten free option for my wife, it is dog friendly and food was great. Beers were Rock Bitter, Rock Mild, Legend, EPA and a Leigh on sea guest 'six little ships'. The craft lager selection on tap was also huge, but the cider wall is awesome... 4 guest ciders (from sweet, strong perry @ 7.5 strength to drier apple ciders...) Food was also reasonably priced at around £6.50 for most mains. If the portions were a little larger my rating may even have been a 10! Try out Ruddington country park and the northern end of the preserved GCR with a trip to this pub....
