| The pub interior has improved since the arrival of the new owners. However they are trying to turn this pub into a posh restaurant. I have witnessed the owners seem to have a problem towards the younger generation maybe this is because their daughters have a reputation with the young lads. What they should consider is the fact thats these people will be their future if they last that long. turtleninja - 11 Aug 2008 21:29 |
| Nice pub has been much improved by new management. Food is good but if it was a few quid cheaper I'm sure they'd make a killing. Think they should also have an affordable daily special (curry/hot pot/chilli etc) that would tempt in a more regular food crowd. Went to a quiz night which was good - perhaps landlord should think twice before letting his teenage daughter loose on the mic though. alephantom - 5 Aug 2008 19:15 |
| Looks small from the outside, but it is huge inside! Reasonably priced beers (well, I am from Surrey!) Good food, if a little on the expensive side. If I had had the time and apetite to make a decent review I would, but, unfortunately I was a bit pushed. Small, but functional beer garden, large screen TV and pool tables spotted in annex/next building. I wish I'd had time to explore this little gem, maybe next time I'm in the area, eh? | Pleasant pub tucked off the main road at a corner of the main square. On entering there are several large round tables primarily for dining. Were there Sunday lunchtime and roast beef and lamb shank were about £8 with well flavoured meat and reasonable amount of well cooked veg. Ales on offer were Butcombe and 6X. No complaints other than the large wooden chairs which are lethal - 2 of the 4 at our table were coming apart causing one set of bruised fingers - beware! lout_from_the_lane - 5 Jun 2006 17:23 |
| Visited this interesting boozer today as a reciprocal kind of thing from my colleagues, they had enjoyed Camberley, so I was going to enjoy Wilton! From the outside it looks a bit pokey, but step through that door and the place just opens up. Pool tables and large screen TV in a large back room/annex, small but usable beer garden. Drinks were decently priced, however I didn't have enough time to sample what seemed to be some noteworthy food. Definitely worth a return visit when I have a bit more time to appreciate this pub.
