extensive use of farrow and ball paint in evidence, sadly feels just like so many other 'made over' pubs. Ale was fine but nothing special, food was fine on our visit

In Wilton recently with my disabled wife and our dog I stopped there at lunchtime. The car park was deserted. There was a covered seating area in the yard in which a grumpy-looking man was standing smoking. On enquiry I found he was the guv'nor. I asked about dogs: not allowed. I said we would sit outside: no good, he replied, you'll be troubled by wasps. Looking in the bar I saw it was empty - I wonder why? We drove on and went to the Pembroke Arms where we had a very different experience.

this pub has recently had a makeover and is MUCH improved! really nice, well presented 'pub grub' and great real ales (6x and Hopback summer lightning). still looks likes there is more in store as the old pool room is now closed for refurbishing plus the 'snug'? is under repair. there is a really cosy woodburner . all in all well worth a visit.

The pub interior has improved since the arrival of the new owners. However they are trying to turn this pub into a posh restaurant. I have witnessed the owners seem to have a problem towards the younger generation maybe this is because their daughters have a reputation with the young lads. What they should consider is the fact thats these people will be their future if they last that long.

Nice pub has been much improved by new management. Food is good but if it was a few quid cheaper I'm sure they'd make a killing. Think they should also have an affordable daily special (curry/hot pot/chilli etc) that would tempt in a more regular food crowd. Went to a quiz night which was good - perhaps landlord should think twice before letting his teenage daughter loose on the mic though.
