Very friendly, very traditional pub. Only question is - can this sort of gem survive these days ?? Let's hope so.

A wonderful, old school boozer, tucked away on a side street just off East Hill, which therefore keeps away the youthful punters otherwise drawn to Dartford Town centre's fleshpots. Everything you want from a boozer - pool table, dartboard, dukebox, and an open fire last time I was there. Oh, and the beer is pretty damn good too. In fact, I spent an entire Saturday evening on Courage Directors only recently, which was an absolute joy. Obvioulsy not so good on the Sunday morning though. Sky TV for all sports addicts, and even, my God, a Sunday meat raffle! Pubs do not get much better than this!

This is a great pub in every sense. It's far away enough from the high street to distance itself from the lager warehouses in the centre of town, which is important. It stands on a quiet street corner opposite a nice quiet burial ground.

The landlord and landlady are exceptionally polite, and the general atmosphere in the pub is friendly and warm. I've been here about 4 times in the last 6 months, and on each occasion, I've been meaning to go on from here off to another pub. But ... I've never made it out before closing time.

I must make a special mention of the Spitfire. It's as good as I've had it anywhere on draft, and that includes the Shepherd Neame brewery.

It's a lovely old pub, and I hope it remains so. The business on a Friday and Saturday night seems slow, which is worrying. I sincerely hope it serves the community for many years to come.

Tucked away and not visible from the main road, its secretive location means that it attracts only the locals. As such it has a good community spirit and on my numerous visits playing for darts and quiz teams, I have found the Foresters quite welcoming and friendly. The pub itself is a traditional style with a U shaped bar with a section at the rear that can be used for functions. 2 TVs and a well positioned darts board and pool table. It has to be said that the pub is rather dull and gloomy a lighter wall covering would make the place seem so much brighter and the general interior is a bit dated and featureless. Well kept Spitfire and Courage Best on pump alongside fairly standard lagers / kegs etc. Overall, it is nothing special but its worth the walk up the hill if you want to get away from the bustle of the town centre pubs.
