in a word, 'don't' - wander round to the Haven, the Nelson, Ship in Distress - anywhere that values its customers. Agree with last post - food is when it suits, and don't assume because you've been served they won't try to hassle you to finish. madras1234 - 13 Apr 2007 13:00
As a local to the Sandpiper I go there from time to time to eat. However, over the past two years or so, I have been really annoyed to find that they just stop serving food whenever they feel like doing so. This has happened about 8 times now. Tonight I phoned at 6.30 to what time they finish serving food. 7.30 I was told. Arrived at 7.03 only to be told the kitchen was closed despite the fact that the senior barmaid was aware of my phone call. The manager has a very cavalier attitude to when he wants to serve or stop serving food. they publish no times of food hours. Most annoying and several friends of mine no longer go there because of that reason. The pub is nice but the "customer care" is appalling. anonymous - 29 Dec 2006 23:28
The music here is far too loud in the late evening, are they trying to turn it into a club? Lots of pool tables, good value meals which usually have fairly big portions. Not a bad pub. ashs1988 - 24 Jul 2006 09:44

Good resonable pint! Sports bar is good if you want it for footy or rugby etc. Pool tables aren't cheap but plenty of them. Good atmosphere, pleasant staff. We approve!!! Guinness is good! pinta - 13 Mar 2006 18:27
