Its definitely re-opened. It opened on 12th March 2010 and is now a Freehouse so it is well priced and can be choosy over what it sells and where it buys it. Trying not to make this an advert, but it sells: Cask Mild (Thwaites Nutty Black) which is the landlords favourite. Hawkshead Bitter and Wainwrights. Warsteiner, Carling, Thwaites Smooth, Kingstone Press Cider and Guinness. Cask Conditioned Mild at £2.10 a pint.... nutty nectar. RingoB - 28 Apr 2010 21:04
Seemed to be open again last night although I didn't get chance to visit. drtimthornton - 17 Mar 2010 14:16
Has been closed for the past month or so. Unlikely to reopen any time soon I would have thought. A shame as used to sell a cracking pint many years ago. KendalQuin - 1 Sep 2009 09:23
Unlike most of the other recent closures in Kendal (it has been a bad year especially for Punch Taverns pubs), this pub has risen from the grave and reopened. (Though I note from the web that the lease was still for sale as recently as last week.) There's new garden furniture on the pavement and I have the feeling that there's been some new painting inside. (Is the amazing Dyson Airblade in the gents loos new?) It is a shame that the snug is not yet operational. On my visit there were three beers: Abbot (in good condition), Black Sheep Bitter and a mild. I wish it luck. drtimthornton - 29 Jul 2008 10:00
