Definitely the poor relation in the area. The only poor pint of the evening. There are plenty of better places in the area so don't intend to go back!

Despite the deplorable language of the previous reviewer, he / she is fairly accurate. We went in before Christmas. Despite being very quiet, it took about ten minutes to get a pint. The barman seemed irritated that we'd bothered him. The beer was dishwater.

I went there from work one sunny lunchtime. They couldn't cope. They stopped taking orders for meals - great! The staff were short tempered. The Speckled Hen was awful. I gave it a second chance a few weeks later in the evening. It still took ages to get served. The beer was terrible. Considering the prime location, this place needs a kick up the arse.
