Can't believe the last review this is a great pub Clean, tidy & traditional - not plastic Food was fanastic, whoever cooks the steaks is doing a great job!! Yes the sandwiches are basic, but they are offered in aditional to the menu, there are plenty of other choices which are very well priced Most notably there is a super choice of wines & real ales I wish i lived nearer DD1971 - 30 Oct 2010 12:00
Overpriced pub grub, and tatty interior, should be better service food etc for the prices. Basic rump steak £11-50 little or trimmings, poor quality for the price.Several people have said it was not a good place to eat,and I can see quite clearly why james55westhead - 15 Jul 2010 14:22
Great pub with great selection of real ales - hospitable and pleasant staff - good outside seating for summer months - all a pub should be. kernott1 - 6 Apr 2010 13:47
Best pub on the canal Good food Good beer Well priced & not tacky like some places Family run & very friendly DD1971 - 5 Apr 2010 16:02
Canalside boozer in a great location that is handy for walkers (it's on the Sandstone Trail rote) and has a range of real ales. Theakston's Best Bitter, Lancaster bomber plus local guests from Cheshire and Shropshire provide a good range. Tried Cruckbeam and Beartown beers which were good. Pleasant interior with lots of porcelian trinkets and an emphasis on food. Leafy beer gardens on 3 sides (including by the canal lock) and a large childrens playground. Had no problems with service as encountered below, must've been a bad time. Would return, Carlurmston - 6 Jul 2009 13:14
