I know it doesn't exactly fit Beer in the Evening but they also do delicious breakfasts here, give it a try!!... oxenhillshaw - 19 May 2008 23:47
We three 'old biddies' went to the pub to use the Telegraph offer and we haven't enjoyed a meal so much for ages. The staff were exceptional and the menu very varied. We will definately be going there again when we visit Chichester. Thanks again. monti - 6 Mar 2008 09:00
We came here on a Saturday night for the first time (Oct 14) just before 9. The place was quite packed, though I was still served at the bar fairly quickly. From what I remember, 3 bottles of Corona and a Magners came to £12.70, so make what you want from that about drink prices. The décor, however, was nondescript, while the background music was lyric-less funky house, which I struggled to appreciate this stage of the night. There was a relaxed and jovial atmosphere in here, but I found this place too cramped given the host of tables and chairs taking up room to go along with how busy it was. Apparently, it usually becomes 1 in, 1 out later on in the night. I thought the Slug and Lettuce in Bromley was small! There was also a private function towards the back of the place near the toilets, so even less room in the main area. No dance floor area, so if you fancied a little boogie, tough. I was happy to swiftly move on after 1 round of drinks and am unlikely to drink here again when next in Chichester on a Saturday night. Searching for H-Files? Not when you can barley move around. On to Lloyds then! Searching_for_H_Files - 16 Oct 2006 11:17
don't know why every one complains so much about this pub. the staff are friendly and the beer is kept well. It is a little pretentious, but if you don't like that then bugger off to somewhere like the nags. The main bonus about this place is it's only a short crawl to the vestry- probably the best pub in chi. brilliant at the weekend the live music is class and the staff are amazing. anonymous - 3 Jul 2006 14:26
The friendly staff and decent enoguh food don't quite hide the fact that this place is just a little too pretentious for it's own good. A DJ over the brazil game? My best advice would be to check whether your t-shirt cost £30 or more and was from a small independent fasion label. If the answer's yes, stay and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere. If no then go next door to the Fountain and enjoy a quality pint in relaxed surroundings lonelybob - 14 Jun 2006 10:05
