| Great location on the estuary with good outside seating.Agree with the comments about the decor at first inspection but good choice of beers, including Skinners Green Hop,when we visited and surprisingly good and excellent value food.Sharps Cornish Coaster also a decent pint and refreshing change from Doom bar. Seems a good community pub too judging by the number of people in on a charity bingo night. bromsgrovebeerboy - 26 Oct 2011 18:58 |
| 400+ years od and decked out like pub nouveau crossed with someone's conservatory. The outside seating overlooks the harbour and over to Polruan, but it loses the sun come the afternoon. Had a decent pint of Betty Stoggs Big Sister in here, but the decor left me cold. shand83 - 12 Apr 2011 16:23 |
| My first visit in sometime and not disappointed. Several beers on offer along with Cornish Rattler cider and although we had eaten the food looked superb and well worth trying. The patio outside overlooks the Estuary which is always good viewing. The only freehouse in Fowey, it is well worth visiting ahscum - 19 Jul 2010 19:07 |
| Good sized pub with a great terrace over-looking the estuary. I imagine this gets pretty packed and quite difficult to actually get a seat along the water's edge. Not much to look at from the street side (just an alleyway in fact) but worth making the effort to investigate further. There was an Irish singer on a recent Saturday night visit who wasn't really to my taste but a few people were getting in to the singalong spirit. It's nice to find a pub that not woned by St. Austell's in these parts. There were five beers on tap (three from Sharps) plus Blackthorn, Cornish Rattler and Scrumpy Jack ciders.
