| Nice place with a lovely stream running by into the lake outside, and stunning views right from the doorstep. Lots of walks available that could finish here. | I'd like to to the previous review that the Bridge has a useful outdoor area for rare warm sunny days. Inside there are two interconnected rooms which are generally more atmospheric than the more village-hall-like Fish. drtimthornton - 27 Jul 2008 17:26 |
| This pretty pub and hotel is the focal point of the village of Buttermere. The bar serves local beers such as Black Sheep and the excellent Butteremere Bitter. Food is generally a cut above standard pub grub, although my friend's meal was cold and my dessert rather uninspired. An excellent place to wind down after a walk on the hills.
