Pretty good friendly pub in centre of town. Fairly basic but so what.

About four or five real ales (mainly local). Cheap too (£2.00 and £2.50 on our visit).

Well worth a visit.

The White Lion is reopening on Monday 5th Dec 2011 after a refurbishment by Darwin's Inns (who have taken it over) and it will be selling 5 Salopian real ales. Hopefully it will be a much better pub!

OK pub with 3 real ales usually - Could be a lot better. The building is historic and probably the oldest pub in Wellington.

Superb traditional pub in the town centre. A genuine welcome, interesting and friendly conversation with locals and bar staff, a decent enough pint (Titanic Iceberg - went down well), though with only 2 choices on (teh other was Landlord) I tend to agree it won't make GBG.

Remains my prefered pub in this part of town.

Black and white timbered building in the pedestrianised area. Called in on Thursday as part of a mini crawl of Wellington pubs. Only real ale on the bar was Wye Valley Butty Bach. I had a pint which was OK. Only 4 people in the pub including me at 8 p.m. and yet the barmaid still had to be told by the other customers that I was waiting to be served. Not a patch on The Cock no matter what the earlier reviews say. No chance of ever getting in the GBG on this performance.
