Excellent, friendly, non pretentious pub in the heart of Wellington. A small but excellent selection of real ales, well kept keg beer etc. Some sport on at request but never too much to doninate. very friendly staff. bdm - 23 Jul 2008 18:02
The trouble is that The Cock USED to be the best real ale pub in Wellington. Started to rest on its laurels a bit too much in my opinion and in the opinion of several other people. Served me two truly awful pints from two different breweries, one after the other. Will NOT get that chance again! Some members of staff are irritating know-it-alls. Decline to serve Guinness as it is not a real ale, serving Murphys, instead. anonymous - 3 May 2007 00:52
sorry, i disagree. the best real ale pub in wellington has got to be the cock hotel.the white lion has yet to appear in the good beer guide. davearrow - 28 Oct 2006 12:14
Cracking food at from 11-3 weekdays, usually 4 real ales about the place, with Titanic being popular. I work there! AliWiseman - 21 May 2006 14:36
Usually has 4 good real ales on. These vary from week to week, ranging from weaker session beers through to the stronger beers such as Hobgoblin. Tis a small pub, but lively. Close to the rail and bus station and surrounded by other pubs! I currently work there! AliWiseman - 23 Apr 2006 17:59
