Very friendly pub in attractive village. The beer (we tried 6X and Dorset Gold) was well kept and not too expensive etither. The food was also cheap, but sadlyit was truly awful. A good pub for a drink but most definitely not somewhere for dinner.

STAYED LOCALLY RECENTLY. WENT TO THE PUB ONCE LUNCHTIME, ONE EVENING .
BOTH TIMES VERY PLEASANT AND NO SIGN OF YOBS OR TV. THREE CASK ALES ON
RINGWOOD BEST, DOOMBAR AND BETTY STOGGS WHICH I DRANK AND WAS IN
GOOD CONDITION. LOVELY QUITE VILLAGE. RECOMMENDED STOP.

Very nice food. Did not notice TV, but then it was lunchtime. A very pleasnt village pub which I will use again.

After visiting this pub in 2005 and being very welcomed i decided to re-visit. I was shocked to see that a once periodic main bar had been turned into a 'yobs lounge' , huge TV dominating the entire atmosphere, blasting out the simpsons and then roudy football, and in fact, only the VERY rude landlord seemed intrested in. The landlords wife was equally unfriendly and rude. Very over priced drinks and menu of greasy looking food. NOT RECOMMENDED!!! VERY DISAPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only plus side is that its in a beautifull and quante village!

The big-screen TV doesn't do much to add to the atmosphere, but it seems to be inevitable nowadays. Not that anyone was paying attention to it, and the sound was not as loud as it often is. A real local, but welcomes outsiders too.
