Visited here last wednesday Lunchtime (First stop of a Pub crawl of Christchurch).
Proper Pub with two separate Bars, I opted for the smaller which was full of locals and families going about the daily routine. Nice to see! Ringwood Best and London Pride was available, opted for Ringwood Best which was very good. Background Music was playing at a level that you did not have to shout over. Recommended if you are in the area or waiting for a train!

Just spent Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime there.

It's just how a good pub should be and Jim and Steph make wonderful, kind and friendly hosts.

That's odd - the landlord doesn't smoke! Glad you enjoyed your visit never the less.

Despite being asked to wait for the landlord to finish his fag in the beer garden before being served "you can waIt boys" one friendly local advised, we found this to be a great place to start our day. Good, well kept ales, London Pride and Ringwood Best on tap. Locals friendly enough, decent beer garden would recommend for a quick one.

If you like a well run tradition wet led local then a trip to the Railway is just the ticket. Ringwood ales, Old Rosie cider, Kronenbourg 1664 & San Miguel etc. All kept immaculately. Traditional public and saloon bar set up, somewhat dated decor but clean as a whistle as are the toilets.

If you're looking for food go elsewhere as it's not what this little gem is about, but if good beer and cider served well and with a smile in a proper local boozer floats your boat then a visit to the Railway is a must if you find yourself in Christchurch.
