If you like a well run tradition wet led local then a trip to the Railway is just the ticket. Ringwood ales, Old Rosie cider, Kronenbourg 1664 & San Miguel etc. All kept immaculately. Traditional public and saloon bar set up, somewhat dated decor but clean as a whistle as are the toilets.

If you're looking for food go elsewhere as it's not what this little gem is about, but if good beer and cider served well and with a smile in a proper local boozer floats your boat then a visit to the Railway is a must if you find yourself in Christchurch.

Stopped in here cycling from Beer to Whiteparish in Wiltshire yesterday. It had been pissing it down all day and the three of us were soaked to the skin and freezing cold. Thankfully a warm fire and pints of Ringwood sorted us out as the locals gently took the mick out of our cycling kit and advised us on our route for the afternoon. Food came in the form of crisps and pickled eggs and the Ringwood bitter was in good nick too. Top class little boozer with friendly staff and locals; an absolute gem of a pub.

I hadn't been in here for well over a year. Still much as I remember it, and the Ringwood Best was excellent.

The dog has calmed down, and enjoys lying by the fire, Ringwood Best and St Austel Tribute on in fine form.

Still a good traditional pub, now serving food according to the sign outside, now has an annoying litle dog running around. Dog and food!?
