More like an open prison/crèche for the socially feeble than a pub or restaurant. Loud, warm, sticky and thoroughly charmless - think Vanessa Feltz after a gym session. Caveat edax. xyrion - 26 Nov 2010 15:54
Once a fortnight, for the last three years, I've accompanied a group of care home residents for a carvery lunch to this carvery.. Everyone has enjoyed the food - no one has had food poisoning. The attention and good humour shown by staff to these often frail and vulnerable people is excellent. Spritus - 27 Sep 2010 07:09
As this pub is in my local area I pop in from time to time, the beer is very cheap however once you have been to one Toby Carver you have been to them all. Nothing wrong with the pub but it lack's in character and seems to be a place where you go to purchase cheep beer. The food is ok however still mass produced. Be careful if you are going to leave your car in the car park overnight as I have had my car broken in to twice whilst I have left it parked there. Also you have to inform the bar staff that you will be leaving it there otherwise it will be clamped. Over all I would choose another place to drink, I would say that the pub is only suitable for people that will meet there for a few drinks before going for a meal elsewhere. Purely because the choice of good ales is limited and it is always packed with heavy drinkers looking for a bargain. Carling2165 - 3 Jun 2010 08:03

Came in hear on a sunday night and was surprised to see a pub with a good atmosphere. The mood is relaxed and has an authentic feel which many local pubs n shirley and west wickham don't have. The drinks are well priced and ther is a good selecton of bitter and lager. The only downer is that the bar staff don't use hardly any vodka in their cocktails. However I enjoyed my time and will be returning!!! You wouldn't know this pub is part of a restuarant!!! Good clientelle, good staff and good beer so what more could you ask for!!! h.bomb - 19 Aug 2007 22:00
