The Gentleman Jim in Alton is a very friendly welcoming family pub. They have a a fully equipped function room which can be hired for any purpose corporate functions, weddings, parties for young & old. They have disco's, live bands & karaoke as well as penguin racing and race nights. They have the largest flat screen tv in Alton (and believe me its big!!)plus 3 slightly smaller ones showing all the sport you could ever wish to watch! They have a good selection of beer on pump & obviously bottled they also have real ale on pump which seems to be a rareity in some places but is very popular. They have a lot of teams two pool teams, two thursday darts teams & two friday darts teams. The pub also has an extremely well equipped kitchen & offers a really nice menu at a very reasonable price and also has a childrens menu which I was very impressed with as there are hardly any child friendly pubs in Alton!
All in all I would say The Gentleman Jim is a very good pub what I would call a proper pub with good beer, good food & friendly welcoming bar staff what more could you want!!
