Not my locallest pub but always happy to take the extra walk (and extra stagger back) to visit this lovely friendly pub. Some good Ringwood (and other) ales, a good friendly bunch of staff, nice cosy bar, can't go much wrong here.

Big roadside pub with two large bars, mainly for the locals, supports football and darts teams, I'm tempted to call it a community pub. In my recent experience the staff are friendly as have been the customers. There are a few 'chav types', as someone put it, but the are locals, they live there.
The beer is excellent, 3 or 4 cask ale (HSB, Entire stout and Hobgoblin) on my last visit. Usual ciders, lagers, spirits etc. I can't comment on the food, the menu looks to be run of the mill pub-grub.
Clean, quiet during the day, boisterous during my recent evening vist.If this was my local I'd be happy with it.
My rating? 6 built largely on the quality of the ale.

I must have struck lucky then as I was in for a couple of pints on 2nd Dec and there was nary a chav to be seen.

What's more, there were four real ales on and not just the bog standard ones either. The Skinners Cornish Knocker was in excellent condition.

A couple of years back when I was still working in Saudi, someone kindly sent me an email alerting me to the fact that this place was much improved from when I made my original posting. Many apologies for never acknowledging your email but I gormlessly deleted your message before saving your email address.

Anyway, to get back to the pub, much improved all round especially on the beer front. Has a big screen which is well positioned with a good quality picture but no more on that before I start to sound like that bloke with his bleedin' widescreen campaign.

Local pub way out in the normal suburbs. Recently knocked the middle and public bar into one and currently appears to be chav central which is a shame. Don’t feel welcome there now. Disaster. Used to be one of my favourites.

Dedicated to the sport of kings, horse racing, this pub is friendly but could do with some refurbishment.
