Absolute dump, Beer was OK though zagreb - 26 Aug 2011 15:29
good locals pub right on the quay, much better beer than sold on the Albatross ship right in front of you, "wherry should go overboard. plastic glasses available so you can sit on the quay and watch, boats, tide, tourists. Never had a bad pint here, never eaten here piratepri - 5 Apr 2010 23:51
The pub is rather spartan, it's like going back 20 years. Bare wooden floors, rickety tables and chairs. Woodfordes Wherry plus on other real ale on when I called. Had the Wherry and it was a nice pint. However, go around the back of the pub to the 'crab shop' (not sure if this is part of the pub or not). Absolutely fantastic fresh local seafood at reasonable prices. Best meal of our holiday. bluebootycat - 20 Jul 2009 18:48
This is a strange pub. Looks OK from the outside but when we went in it seemed to be frequented by a load of young lads (including the barman) who were playing something on laptops! We bought our beer and sat down by the window but the noise from the bar was annoying. The pub itself seems very empty of any furniture or atmosphere and is incredibly dirty and dusty. There is a huge fireplace but it looks like it hasn't been used for years and the remains of previous fires seemed to be all over the place. No beermats on a very empty table which meant any slops just sat there, and they certainly had - the table was filthy and sticky and the windowsill had about an inch of dust on it. Absolutely fantastic views spoiled by a very "don't care" attitude. Saying all that, we didn't feel threatened or intimidated in any way - just uncomfortable. The beer (Wherry) was OK but pulled in a hurry so just didn't sit right. elliej1961 - 6 Apr 2009 00:31
This used to be a fine pub, with good real ale and what must be the best view of any pub in norfolk, but it seems to have been taken over by lager louts, loud swearing, and drunken brawls seem the order of the day! not a place to take the Mrs. But the salt marsh views are still there. No food served, (just as well!) norfolkmarshman - 8 Dec 2008 18:40
