| Great traditional pub. Good value pub food served. We had steak & ale pie with chips (under £4 each!) . I had Theakstons bitter and wife had Exmoor Gold both were in top class condition. Well worth a visit hywel2002 - 14 Jul 2011 23:57 |
| been to queens before, first visit was fab, found pub to be family oriented. fantastic for my friends who are single mothers to wanted to go for a drink then home. we went to go there a second time as we saw they did food, my friends went in their babies and i met them few mins later. my mates had gotten their drinks i went to get min and bloke behind bar refused to serve me by association because my friends had babies with them saying the pub is not a cresh, i found him to be very hypocritical as there was another family in there with a child, whom was 7 years old. whats the difference. still children. i would advice not to use this pub if your single parents or even going out for a meal as a family unit if you get treated like this!!!!!! rednwelsh - 15 Apr 2010 09:04 |
| The pub is situated on a street corner and has several rooms. I visited on a Tuesday afternoon and it was reasonably busy with a good friendly community feel to it. Value for money food and 4 real ales available. The landlord keeps a good pint and sources all the beers directly from breweries, both big and small. Theakstons Bitter and Old Peculiar are now back on regularly after a period when they were missing and Brains Buckleys Best is still a regular. The guest came from Archers with several more micro brewery beers in the cellar ready to come on Well worth wandering down to this part of town to visit it. | In here before the Saints game testerday. 3 regulars, Buckley 's Best, Theakstons Best and Old Pec and one guest. Guest started as Evan Evans Full Cry and changed to Mauldons Mid-Autumn Gold. Friendly pub, excellent cheap food. I think the bear has seen better days! GuideDogSaint - 26 Oct 2008 13:02 |
