| They were serving Spitfire and Butcombe when I droped in. Tried the Butcombe and happy to say all good!!! This is another old 'Bass House' from back in the day. | As a change from my usual sunday lunchtime visits I decided to come in on a Monday night. The beer was like wine and the food was some of the best pub food I have tasted anywhere. | Popped in here with family for a sunday lunch between Christmas and new year. And, I have to say although the menu was severly limited and dominated by fish dishes the welcome was warm and the beer though not outstanding was very acceptable. What was't acceptable was the schoolgirl waitress who although very pretty and friendly was as dim as a TocH lamp. The place was rammed out, and I thought the speed with which the food came was very commendable considering the vast numbers in there for lunch. Overall, I think they do a good job in here which is just as well as without it there is no serious alternative in Sherborne. Give it a go. DickStilton - 20 Feb 2009 18:33 |
