Encouraged by jbs' comments we popped in on a weekday evening. The 'several real ales' were all from the dull end of the market: Pride plus the usual lot from the ghastly Greene King stable. Glowered at so intently by scary men in tracksuit bottoms and baseball caps that we about turned and went to the Park Tavern, Eltham instead.

This pub is featured as a "Family Pub". The beer garden has a lot of child friedly features - cages of birds and rabbits, safe fountains, and was mostly grassed.
Several real ales on handpumps are available.
I went there for the Sunday jazz, and was not disappointed with the quartet and singer.
The only drawback was the 'plastic glasses'.

Not a bad pub friendly land lord and some staff ok, it has nice facilities for kids although i would never take mine there as it can be terrible in the evening people causing trouble all a bit much to take for the manager and owner who dont seem to have it under control.
People going in and out the toilets in pairs if you catch my drift..
Although that was a while ago so hope its improved.

A great place to bring the kids, big garden, kids play area, hot food, sunday roast is great, only £6.99
and half price for the little ones. jazz band or singer every sunday. The landlord, landlady along with there 3 boys make us very welcomed. friday nights always good fun. on saturday band or Dj. never a dull moment. The whole pub has changed over the last 2 years.

Rabbits and budgies and weird, multi-coloured birds all iving together in cages? Can't be right.

Pub's ok, it's nice to have grass under your feet when in a beer garden (pretty rare in London) but I wasn't blown away.
