WJ King Horsham Best & Winter’s T’Ale (halfpt £1.55). Stone, flag, & wood flooring, some old beams, hop decorated. Deli & farm shop in room to right of bar, quite large dining area opp end and seemingly aiming for that market. Interim open lounge had sofas, and more bar space was given to the coffee machine than the beer pumps, hmmm.

In here on Saturday for a bit of a celebration to find that a power cut meant no draught beers. How come the handpumps needed power?

Otherwise friendly staff and plenty of room to stretch out, and good views to the Surrey Hills one side and the Sussex Weald the other way.

Is it possible that each course being served by a different waitress was part of an elaborate theme? Was each one dressed to reflect a different period of the pub's history? Or perhaps as a different local food?

We stopped off here for lunch. Service was good (although we were served each course by a different waitress), food was nice but overpriced and not enough of it. At £8.50 for 3 sausages and a small dollop of mash, i found it a bit steep and if you want veg with it, that'll set you back another £2.50! I agree with the concept of using locally produced food but to charge so much for the meals is a bit much. I can't knock the quality of the food at all, all very nice, but the prices are a bit steep.

We ate here a few weeks ago, and found all the waitresses to be extremely helpful and friendly. no sign of a rude waiter - apparently he was the barman who didn't like waiting at table! Conveniently half way between south London and the coast for meeting friends! Recommended.
