Excellent pub tucked away on the Roseland Perninsula, with its own brewery, but also plenty of other beers all well kept and drunk. Also excellent food, well priced etc etc,
When several friends and I turned up for food without a booking it was no problem, with one young lady very ably running the bar, serving the drinks, taking the phone calls, making the bookings, serving the food, clearing the tables, she did everything other than cook it. You don't see that very often now do you, if we could only clone her.
Might be a different story in July/August but whatever they will still try.

Nice pub with its own microbrewery. FulmarX was on when we visited, a good pint. We had an excellent, reasonably priced soup and sandwich lunch. The bar staff were friendly and the service was excellent.

My wife and I visited the Roseland Inn this summer for a drink and to look at the menu and if OK would have booked meal for following day. However, once we were served our drinks we were told that all seats were reserved. We stood in an almost empty restaurant feeling complete Charlies. Finally we sat in the rain outside under the smoker's umbrella. The pint that I was served was bad and I had to take it back. I was given another but felt rather let down at lack of interest from staff. My wife had ordered a white wine, after a couple of sips she said yuk!
We left the pub and the drinks and I was over £6 down on the visit.
This is definitely not a pub and should not be on the list.

I think the reviews so far are a little harsh. My friends and I cycled past on a hot day and stopped based entirely on hill induced thirst and the sighting of the microbrewery. The beer was, despite the name Cornish Shag (which bothers me not one bit), superb. Really superb. I would recommend the pub solely on their beer - the best I tasted all week. Vastly superior to any Sharps or St Austell beers. I can't comment on the food, but after a few days in Padstow, 9 quid main courses seem all right to me...

Used to go to the Roseland Inn quite a bit when down in the Roseland Peninsula on holiday. It was prettty good initially, but then went into a bit of a nosedive.

Haven't visited for a few years, but recently went back after finding out about the new(ish) owners and the attached microbrewery.

Vast improvement. The food was very good (the steak I had was particularly noteworthy) and their own ale (the ridiculously named Cornish Shag - why do real ale brewers have such infantile senses of humour?) was very tasty.

Prices? Not a bargain, but reasonable for the quality on offer I suppose.

I don't know if it gets many locals in though - it seemed as though all the customers were tourists on the night we went.

Still - if you're down there etc. etc... It's worth a visit.
