Sam Smiths pub tucked away on the edge of town. Cheap with a pint of bitter at £1.60 but that'd be the main incentive to visit.

Plain and fairly basic two bar Sam Smith's pub down a street leading off the top end of Knaresborough's High Street. Popular with a mostly older age group this is a very traditional old boozer. Darts are a big thing here and there are signs of a mixed football following for Man United and strangely in the same pub Newcastle United plus the rather off the wall Carlisle! Popular, friendly and busy, the notice board shows that this is a vibrant community local with notes about pub teams and money raised for local charities. As it's a Sam's pub you will be well aware of the choice of ales ie their brews or nowt, I'm sad to say the beer is only middling in quality.

This used to be a nice little Sam's pub with good beer and good value home cooked food. Alas, it is suffering from the current mis-management by the Brewery hierarchy - we used to have a party of about 20 people gathered there every month but have move on due to the poor quality of beer and non-availability of food. A sad loss.
