New years eve 07/08, was a laugh. Agree the bar seemed understaffed but i didn't need to wait long at all. DJ played all my requests, and had a few dances with girls. Great place, but maybe i think that cos i had a great night. Still, i'd probably go again. Spartakoos - 10 Feb 2008 13:04
I agree with the previous review, the lack of bar staff in this club is ridiculous. In fact I only registered on this site so I could reinforce what Steve_D had to say, and maybe one day Reflex will wake up and smell the coffee. I used to go to this place on and off but the 20-30 minute wait every time you want a drink has put me right off as you can imagine. Any half cut bar manager can see that a couple of extra bodies behind the bar would increase their profits ten fold and put a smile on customers faces! Such a shame, as it would be an excellent club if this was corrected....WAKE UP REFLEX! Percythegreat - 9 May 2007 15:02
Having previously been to Reflex in the City of London I had high hopes for this place, but was disappointed. Again, there is plenty of 80s decor and cheesy 80s music but it's really just a big room with a pole, a DJ and a bar. The bar itself is woefully understaffed, and on the Saturday night I went waiting twenty minutes to be served was common. Bar managers never seem to understand the simple maths of more staff = people served quicker = people drink quicker = more cash put across the bar. It also cost a fiver to get in the Saturday evening I went (shut at 2am), but I have been to more expensive places and enjoyed myself less. And at least there wasn't a guy in the gents expecting a quid for handing you some kitchen towel. If you like 80s cheese in Southend, it's a decent evening out. 6/10 and would be higher if there were more bar staff. Steve_D - 25 Apr 2006 18:14
