This is a pub of two halves. The bar area seems to be moreorless original. We sat in what seemed to be a modern extension with modern furniture that seemed to ruin the pub's atmosphere. All 3 real ales were from Cornwall - Sharps Own and Doom Bar & St Austell Tinners. Watch out when exiting the pub. You walk straight out onto the busy A road!

this is the best pub in the Piddle Valley area.
good ales, decent food and service, and it still has pub atmosphere. good job!

This is a great pub. It has recently changed hands but the staff are the same. Nice food and lovely restaurant. The bar is full of friendly locals which helps it retain it's 'country pub' feel

This is a truelly wonderful place. Stephanie has worked wonders in creating such an idillyic (sp!) place.

Fabulous food! Wonderful beer and wine. Fantastic atmosphere. Really couldn't say enough good things!

Oh and they have renovated all of their rooms too - so you could always book in for the night!! Then you can eat and drink to your heart's contentment!

Please do go here! Wonderful walks over the hills or along the river.

Enjoy!

This is a beautiful pub. Some traditionalists may well hate it, but for me it has a lot going for it.

An old building that has obviously been refurbished. It has a restaurant area, a "traditional" pub area and a modern mezzanie (sp) area. Our other halves loved sitting in the modern area whilst the boys were happy propping up the bar.

This place must come alive in the summer with the small garden and stream at the back of the pub.

The food came recommended although we weren't there to eat.

Good friendly staff and a decent selection of beer.
