user reviews of the Salisbury Arms, Salisbury

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Run under temp management on a holding basis by the props. of the nearby Five Bells for Enterprise Inns, this fairly tired local has the dubious distinction of being Salisbury's most expensive pub (Stella £3.95 pint). Nice couple managing it, occassional discos, pub is apparently closing for a major refurb in March 2012.

Sadly 'Mop' the landlord has now departed for a quite life!! Rumour has it that the landlord and landlady from the Five Bell's are taking over............and the Five Bells is dead at the best of times. Can't see this working myself.

Weird. The only person in there was the bouncer (why?), the atmosphere was dead, the keg beer was well past its best. The bar staff was friendly, but that's all you can say for the place. Clearly no change since John's comment in 2003.

Dark, dismal and dreary. Doesn't serve food, beer is cheap but wouldn't go back. i could see why the pub was empty.

Made the mistake of going in here when I had about an hour to wait for a bus. Moribund atmosphere and vile John Smiths. No real ale. Go to the Haunch of Venison for a much better time.
