This pub is definitely open. At least it was when I went there yesterday afternoon. Proper unrenovated pub with good jukebox/sound system with plenty of classic tunes to choose from. Friendly bar staff. Not sure of quality of ale as I was drinking Newcastle Brown for a change. V handy for the station if you happen to be waiting for a train and don't want to hang around on the platform. It's only down the road. So many pubs like this are closing for good. Nice to see this one is still open.

Looks shut again. The windows have been replaced and some paintwork done. Another 'To Let' sign has appeared. Awful beer promotion stuff was written in big white lettering on the bar windows. Presumably it only appealed to the local winos during its brief reincarnation from mid August. To think this was a decent pub selling real ale.......

Definitely still open when I walked past in September 2009, just didn't look very inviting and I had a train to catch.

TO NOTE: This pub has been closed now for 18 months and doesn't look as if it open in the near future,
