There's barely ever anybody in here. Last time we went for what was supposed to be quiz night, IIRC, and we were the only ones there. There wasn't even anyone at the bar!

I can't see it lasting long unless someone sorts it out.

What a lovely pub! Superb decor and friendly staff making for a really warm atmosphere. We ate here last night - I had a really tasty slow roasted belly pork and mash; my wife had a salad. Both very good. Obviously the Hooky tasted great. Well worth a visit.

Whoops - correction I forgot to look on the last page for Ye Olde Raine Deer. Sorry folks - you can read my report anyway if you care to.

First visit for a long time - wow! what a change. I didn't think Hook Norton Brewery went in for this type of bar (it's not a pub any more). Wednesday evening and only 4 people in but I would expect it does get busier at other times. Beer (Hook Norton of course) was OK if not spectacular (Try Ye Olde Reine Deer in Parsons Street - which for some reason is not in the BITE list for Banbury - for really good Hooky Beer and a genuine old interior). Obviously going for a totally different market from before (which actually may not be such a bad thing after all)

In general The Coach and Horses is a decent pub. The high stools and tables are a bit naff but the decor is a lot better than it was before the refit. When the sun is out, the little courtyard out the back of the pub is a great sun trap. We've had one duff pint at the end of a barrel in 2 years. The menu has been cut down dramatically since they opened and it is a shame that they stopped doing seasonal specials. It's not exciting but the food is tasty and there's a lot of it. If you ask nicely, they will turn down the music which is usually a bad selection of golden oldies.
