Stumbled across this pub on a drive out from Banbury - perfect little pub. Beer on top form - worked my way through all five ales and got the wife to drive me back home!

After 3 aborted attempts to find a pub that was still operating in this part of the country, we tried the George & Dragon and found it open (or only just). The landlord had already cashed up for the night, with only one other customer present and seemed very surprised to see a stranger turn up. He reassured me that the pub had been very busy during the day with various sports teams and visits from morris dancers. The beer range was good - Robinsons Trooper, Hook Norton Haymaker, Brakspear Oxford Gold & Hardy & Hansons LBW. Cider was Addlestones which went down very well. The pub was closed up for the night after I left. After finding many of the pubs around here closed for good, I sincerely hope this one can remain open, as it is clearly a nice village local.

Fantastic country pub! Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends (roast duck) followed by live music and a great selection of beers including Marstons and local Hook Norton.

Thoroughly recommend.

Very nice home made food, excellent chips which were obviously not bought in. Friendly young waitress though young man in dark shirt seemed unable to return a smile!

Good menu choices though prices rather on high side and portions slightly on meagre side. Mostly wood themed, modern dining room. Above average for a North Oxon village pub.

Lovely, quaint traditional pub. My boyfriend took me and converted me to real ales at this place - they have four on tap and we now go back regularly as they are always changing except for the Hooky Bitter. The food is also great, small menu, changes all the time to keep it seasonal and I'm sure it's all freshly cooked.
