I would love to know what attracts people to this pub. The beer is terrible and the atmosphere is not great, especially if you are not a local face. But, it was busy so they are obviously doing something right!! winstone - 1 Nov 2011 21:41
Music at full blast. Beer OK - not good just OK. Place was crowded (Sat. lunchtime) so it has a following but there are far better pubs in the town. Dan137 - 16 Oct 2011 10:15
Chavy pub for chavy people. Avoid unless you are one! George_The_Dragon - 21 Aug 2009 12:22
Bit of a dive. No food. Three handpumps, only one functioning. Beer was OK. Customers all seemed to be foulmouthed, with eff as every second word. They all seemed to be lager drinkers. Noisy "music". There must be better boozers than this in Abingdon (or indeed anywhere). twm_sion_cati - 30 Mar 2009 12:03
I approached this pub from the precinct and saw a sign proclaiming that The Black Swan had a fine collection of real ales, so dived in sharpish - imagine my disappointment to find only one handpump dispensing Morlands Original. Not a particularly nice pub, though the barman was friendly enough. King_Viv - 30 Jan 2007 10:04
