If ever a pub needed tlc it is this one.Skips full in the carpark over flowing. The place is a mess. The menu Joes greasy Burgers says it all.My god we are losing enough Pubs as it is.This once delightful inn is dying.I drove 60 miles to visit Pubs in this area.Someone please help this place as it is not going to last long. damothe50 - 22 Sep 2008 21:39
the restaurant and service were terrible the tables were sticky, the coffee machine was full of scale and the coffee had white floaty bits in it as a result - we didnt drink it and did not stay for our food the menu was unpretentious - but the prices were - eg £6.50 for a fish finger burger we asked for the table to be wiped and it remained sticky the sugar bowl had clumps in it and a dirty thing like a piece of soil there were loads of flies inside - there was a roll of carpet standing against the wall and an wrapped picture leaning against one of the tables the toilets were dirty - with urine stains around the toilet bowl and in the other toilet the seat was hanging off too dirty to stay or pay! kangaroo - 29 Jul 2008 14:28
Thought this place was reasonable with half decent beer and quality, not too expensive food. They made two dirty-booted walkers (and an equally dirty dog) welcome, albeit at an outside table. Service was attentive and we were even offered water for the dog, which he declined in favour of one of the two excellent guest real ales on offer. Thames Path walkers are well advised to skip the much-hyped Barley Mow in the same village trudge the extra few hundred yards here instead. gtwibell - 21 Oct 2007 21:49
