| The last two reviews are meant for the James Figg, across the road. This one is no more. TiaMariaJim - 29 Feb 2012 22:34 |
| Average kind of old pub refurbed in modernist style. Four ales on - tried the Mad Goose Pale which had a bit of a haze to it but was drinkable. There were a preponderance of flies around the bar and entrance which seemed a little discconcerting for the elderly couple sat by the window as they were munching on their (rather overpriced) toasties. | Been here about 3 times in the last 6 months since it became Jimmy (James) Figgs. The beer has always been good & each time I've chose the Purity Mad Goose. I think there are 3 other beers including Hook Norton and Brakspear. Pub unchanged from when it was the Abingdon Arms with wooden floorboards and the fittings on the wall. Worth a visit. | Thankgod its closed. Its a pity the people who drank here now go to the Birdcage. Police should sort them out. wesleywishes - 22 Nov 2007 18:54 |
| Been here on a couple of occassions, always have a good time. Not the best choice of ale so I tend to stick to lager. Late night licence small dancefloor. DeggyT - 5 Nov 2006 13:36 |
