After a visit to the Fox in Aspenden (another one I have requested to be added to BITE), our fourth stop was the Jolly Waggoner in the remote village of Ardeley. The pub is situated opposite a farm which you can visit. We arrived in a bit of a downpour. But inside, there was a roaring fire, giving the pub a cosy feel. The 3 ales on were New River Twin Spring, Hadham 18ct Golden Ale & 3 Brewers Mild. We were the only customers. But we were soon joined by another family. Nice little pub.

Now the Jolly Waggoners again. Food comes from near by farm and was excellent. Ale very good as well - Adnams and a Buntingford product + one other. The one I had (Buntingford) was excellent.

Be careful the Waggoners was very good!
It is now The Rabbits Foot and very bad.
Poor choice on menu quite cold unwelcoming.
One of those I've been once would never go again.

Good pub, Great Sunday Carvery. Excellent Selection and they welcome children.

Visited the pub the other day and was very pleased at the friendly atmosphere. Nice real ales on tap and friendly staff. It's not a big pub but very traditional. A nice big garden for the Summer months.
We plan to go back and have a meal there as it's so nice.
A perfect place for a pint in my book.
