i called in here the other day and yet again it is under new management. it is alot cleaner but wen you walk in there is no atmosphere. and the landlord doesn't come across as been friendly. i'll be bypassing it next time.

New management, but no new punters as yet. Still it's early days and it's very nice inside.

I have only been into this pub once...
I went in throught the double doored porch to be greeted by a large angry german shepard dog, barking, growling and bearing its teeth at me from about a foot away. As if this wasn't enough to terrify me and my friends, a loud husky voice screamed..."Shut Up Prince!!!". The dog was cowed, tail between legs and returned to its corner. The owner of the voice (and the dog) turned out to be the bar lady, and upon seeing her, I understood the dogs immediate obedience. We ordered drinks, and sat. On the pubs TV, at full volume, the "Life of Grime" was playing, describing the correct method for cleaning out sewers, a fitting backdrop to our pub experience. At this point, it was noticed, that up, down and along the bar, there was a procession of ants crawling and busying themselves.
We drank our drinks in record time, made our excuses, and have since (2 years) not returned.
Although recently the outsid of the pub has had a refurb, whether the situation has improved I don't know.
