| I came to this place when it first opened and it was the hottest place in town, you could not fault it. But a few years on and what can i say! it has not moved on with the times, the food is the same if anything they have got lazy and sloppy. I booked a table for valentines and when we got there they did nothing special on the tables or the music, the lighting was bright and stark which created no atmosphere. The food was below par and when it came to pay they really did not care for my money, i could have walked out without paying easily! I wont be going back unless they change the concept, menu, staff and lighting! Theguyonhisown - 30 Jun 2008 16:49 |
| Me and my partner had lunch here last Saturday and really enjoyed it - spur of the moment decision!! The converted church was amazing and the outside garden area which is very new just adds more character to the building - modern but elegant. Food was lovely and price was nice will be returning and have told lots of friends. blondie7 - 13 May 2008 21:17 |
| Its been said before and will be again places have highs and lows this restaurant 3/4 years ago was the place to eat, not any more now part of a large chain its going down in all things service quality etc. but not price, there are far better places to eat in Godalming or if your driving try some of the village pubs here abouts. | We have visited this gastro pub/restaurant over the last 7 years. Sadly, we feel it has declined (though not the prices) and there is now serious local competition. A Monday night - very quiet, but we were warned that the kitchen might be closed (at 8.45pm. Red snapper was inedible, overcooked and impenetrable. Ditto the duck. It's significant to note that the Bel & Dragon group (4 restaurants) was offloaded in 2007 by Gourmet Holdings because it was making a loss. It's now owned by Ultimate Leisure but ther's not much evidence to date that there's any improvement for the cutomer. pubchampion - 26 Feb 2008 19:20 |
