Beer garden is lovely the new smoking shelter is fantastic and has stopped cold wind so is warmer to sit out there, atmosphere inside is great and there is a wonderful selection of foods in the restaurant- all staff are kind and helpful Raggydolls - 16 Dec 2011 13:30
Happy Hour in New Haw!! Warm and cosy atmosphere, and a pub that is happy to have children in the bar until 9pm- Friendly locals, and friendly bar staff. Very simplistic but good decor with interesting colourful paintings. Price for a real ale was 2.96, a good selection of Otter Bitter, Betty Stoggs, and the Rev James, all kept well. The Prem Rev James was excellent at a price of 3.08, Fosters was 3.04. Yes! 20% discount from 4pm to 7pm everyday of the week....well worth another visit. pureelly33 - 15 Dec 2011 18:19
Visited the pub recently in preparation for leading a walk for my local walking group. The pub and the food are fine but the prices charged for the beer are a big joke......£3:85 for pint of ordinary draught cider and £4:15 for pint of Guinness. Visted again on Saturday 20 August 2011, with the walking group. We arrived at about 1 PM and there were two customers in the bar area and none in the garden .Yes TWO customers for a Saturday lunchtime!!!!!! Need I say more? hornet007 - 22 Aug 2011 19:57
Courage Best, Eagle IPA and Otter Ale (£3.70). Ale slightly on the cold side but ok to me on a hot sunny day. Pleasant by the canal, smart inside. GuideDogSaint - 28 Jul 2011 18:14
Visited this pub again just recently. I fell over when I found out that ordinary bitter was £3.55 and guest ales wee an extra 20p. This is taking the proverbial!!! Unfriendly Bar staff are ALWAYS on their mobiles texting etc. Counter awash with beer. They all need a lesson in customer care. No beer mats to soak up spillage from the flat, over cold expensive bitter. What a shame this pub has come to this. FleetStreet - 23 Jun 2011 11:09
