Latest manager left, apparently, because he wasn't getting enough time off. After some months of closure the place is now being gutted and turned into an Indian restaurant, so I'm told.

Since I last commented the new manager has left, to be replaced by another who has come and gone, to be replaced by the current version. I called in after a long drive from the North but forgot that I had been told last week that the gas had been cut off! Not yet restored and portable heaters all over the place. I think that it's high time for Enterprise Inns to let this place go and let someone competent have a go.

I called in briefly as I had been told that the new management had reduced the prices. This is true, but Guiness is still cheaper in the red lion. The new management seems very positive and customer friendly. I shall be back.

Reopened 5 days ago, nipped in for a drink and a warm up by the open fire. No food yet but the manager says a chef has been taken on & they will be doing sandwiches at lunchtimes, meals in the evenings and Sunday lunchtimes. May be having live music once a month.

The pub appears to be changing management again. That's probably what comes of not doing your Market Research properly, offending all your old customers and charging 7.95 for a sandwich.
