user reviews of the Railway Hotel, Parbold

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Seems to have a resident kn*bhead - look out for the big guy with the shaved head and Rugby shirt who thinks that he's the life and soul of the pub and side-splittingly funny, but isn't....

Still a good pub worth going in as long as you can control the natural and understandable urge to plant him one.

You're right about the chippy, though the Indian takeaway next door is first rate. Will try to add The Stocks and The Windmill as both appear to be absent. All pubs in Parbold are different and worth visiting, really.

just a normal pub really, usual ales, clientel and a crap chippy opposite. do your self a favour and visit the stocks down the road or to the wayfairers for o top meal with your drink

RogerB's review seems to sum the pub up very well - I can't add to that really.

As the name suggests, the Railway Hotel is next to the station and is probably the liveliest of the pubs in Parbold. There is a lot of railway memorabilia and some fine original fireplaces and tiling. The main bar can get quite full but there are 2 quieter rooms either side of the main door. There is a pool table at the back of the main bar plus TV's for sport. Not a large selection of beers but worth a visit if in the area.
