Smashing little village pub no food but the beer is good. Barstaff very pleasant. I dont know which Red Lion bradwan was in but it wasn't this one. It has never sold Sam Smiths beer nor has any other pub in this village to my knowlege & i've used all the pubs in this village for 18 years

Not particular exciting - one real ale (John Smiths Cask) which is not one of my favourites. On the positive side, the place is clean and tidy and easy to park outside. That's about all the enthusiasm I can muster.

Couldn't get over how very clean this place was. Only John Smiths cask which was in good condition on my visit.
Lots of polished brass. Polished golf putter above the bar. Two polished lions by the fireplace which was filled with flowers, unique!. A pool table (lots of trophies).
I'm giving the red lion a 6 the same as the wheatsheaf.
Red lion - better pub feel.
Wheatsheaf - more beer choice.

It's Sam Smith's, it's cheaper than chips, and there is no real ale; and it looks like it is falling down. It also has a collection of senile delinquent ex-pitmen that open a window on history that that tall bloke on the telly with the fingers and the deep breaths never could.
