| Well quite a nice place. quite a few locals. drinks not to expensive. got an irish feel to it, which is not over powering. good place for a friday night. regulars are young to mid aged. no students really. not too many chaves. just a normal crowd. I'd recommend it. Scrappyno1 - 10 Jul 2006 19:07 |
| Blimey, I can't agree with the above review at all! We dashed in at 1059pm on a pub crawl and were served by a pretty and friendly barmaid. The other customers were all young "normal" lads in their 20s and 30s chatting and playing pool - not a hint of trouble and none of them came across as being particularly chavvy. The interior of the pub was clean, warm and welcoming and had the usual smattering of Irish tat on the walls. Decent pool table as well. Maybe I was there on a good day but I'd recommend the JJ. kingston_toon - 6 Dec 2005 11:13 |
| This pub is built especially for wide eyed locals. The staff are friendly but there are the same people in here all week and if the locals take a second to come out of the toilet in their herds or by fault of a nervous twitch cast there eyes in your direction be warned this is there kingdom, full of the typical stereotype of scaffolders and roofers (apologies to the ones with braincells) the [people who drink in here are seriously lacking in something such as brains that gets them through life. If there isn't a kick off, there's an overdose, conversation is limited to repeats from the backpages of the Star and the women (old slappers with young sidekicks) are so up there own arse that I would never set foot in this establishment again.
