| one of the "sizzling pub" chain, belonging to mitchell & butler. for those who don't know, the chain has a standard menu which offers a wide range of meals, each with their own size/price range. e.g. large/med/small, single/double,etc. This is quite handy as there is a good choice, and you may want a light meal or sometimes a good scoff! *** the white rose sits on the road between darnall and woodhouse. its a reasonably sized pub with a fairly large dining area at the rear, and still has room for a good sized bar area at the front. one disadvantage is you have to plough through the bar to get to the diner! plenty of parking available. fairly large outdoor seating area on a grassed section at the front of the building. one cask ale. tetley bitter. *** have called here twice recently for a meal. its clean and comfortable, but often quite busy. get there early if you want to be able to pick your table! the meals were quite reasonable in quality and value. a look around confirmed that no-one had been leaving plate-fulls of food! service is fairly brisk, even when quite busy. your not waiting hours. *** would I go here again? to eat, absolutely. prefer to go up the road to the JUNCTION for the beer, though. reynard - 13 Jul 2008 11:35 |

| First time in here, it has new landlord who seemed really friendly. Locals are ok too, unusual for the darnal area :o)Beers are a decent price and seem to be kept well. Worth a visit. BigJapp2 - 15 Nov 2005 14:02 |
