Decent old pub, with friendly staff. Even the Greene King IPA tasted pretty good (which is not something I say very often). One of several reasonable pubs within walking distance of the eastern edge of Bedford town centre. rpadam - 25 Apr 2008 20:36
Fantastic traditional old pub. Best pint of Abbot Ale in Bedford...no question. The food is excellent as well and very reasonably priced. Mog - 27 Jan 2008 15:25

The oldest pub in town and perhaps the coolest. Clientele of all ages. Live acoustic music on Thursday night. Can get very full at the weekends. greene_man - 13 Feb 2007 13:03
Quality food, ridiculously well priced, including locally sourced sausages from the butcher a few doors away. Split into three separate areas with one separate room which is non-smoking and has been long before non-smoking areas became en vogue. Well kept ales (Greene King) and very friendly staff. A real gem of a pub in a town that sadly lacks decent boozers. PhantomPower - 11 Aug 2006 13:53
