| I paid a fleeting visit to this Irish pub yesterday before heading to the Dispensary. It is a typical Irish pub and attracts a fair few Irish customers, many of whom were there to watch Celtic play on the TV. Tried the Guinness. But didn't find anything particularly special about it. | Have started going here more regularly. For an Irish pub it's cheap(ish) and the bar staff are very friendly. I haven't tried the food yet but it looks good. Not as tacky as other Irish pubs and probably the best one I've been to in the country. Well, it's definately 100 times better than any O'Niells, and I would recommend Pogue Mahones over the expensive and touristy Flanagans Apple on Mathew Street. mattbeer - 25 Apr 2010 12:21 |
| Not a great selection of drinks at the bar but this pub has the best pub food in Liverpool. The Sunday roasts are amazingly good value, and they actually look and taste like a real person has made them! No re-heated microwave meals here. The pub can get very very busy when the students are in town and there is a big Gaelic football match on. I have often been the only English person in this busy Irish pub.
