I don't go to the pub for fairy lights! This is the pub to go for slow service and kids screaming. Karaoke use to be great mind. Wish the Staff would smile more!

Used to be a great atmosphere in here, now hardly anyone in there! Go next door now rather than sit by myself in there! Lager a bit on the pricy side and not that nice either.

Speckled Hen at it's best? I don't think so. I use to go in alot when it actually had the drinks you want. New manager doesn't know how to order stock. They have lost loads of sales I should think! It's not good enough to go in a pub and they run out of all house Red wine and the time before ALL white wines for over a week!. Borrow some. Also they didn't have house vodka for awhile. Regulars are moaning about the taste of the beer. At least the pub as had a face lift now. Not sure we will be going back all my friends and family use to go in alot.

Speckled Hen bitter at its very best and very pleasant bar staff. Good value double spirits but watch out for the prices of the mixers...nearly doubles the bill!Brilliant value-for-money food and the kareoke was enjoyable (Put ear muffs on or go to the loo when Tex does his stuff...absolutely terrible but at least he gets up there with the mike)

LauraJane clearly caught them on a better day than I did. The service was slow, though the drinks were pleasant enough and the fellow behind the bar, I dare say, was doing his best. The food was a major disappointment, mostly cold and my friend's steak was severely over-cooked. I think 1 1/4 hours to wait for hardly a complicated order was excessive. The bread roll was pretty good, mind
Shall we call it a kitchen malfunction?
Won't be going back to find out I'm afraid.
