Checked out Twyford and Shawford pubs the Bugle Phoenix and Bridge, looking for a good local to use on weekends. I now use the Phoenix as my local when visiting Twyford 8 real ales that are really well kept Pots ale, Summer lightning two of the regular beers. Guest ales such as tribute Goodens gold to name a few and always something new to try. Food is also good we often nip down Friday evening and have a light bite which are really great value. Sunday roast great value to can recommend the lamb. Proper pub with proper landlord and landlady. Well worth a regular visit

Very nice, clean boozer. 'A Proper Pub', is how one of my friends described it and, it is!! Good parking lot around the back, beer was in good nick and the food looked great. Only problem......it is a Greene King establishment so the ales were the normal GK dross. Other than that......all good! 8/10

Opened last week after refurbishment. Still a real pub I am happy to report. Bright and welcoming with an excellent selection of real ales - 8 in total including ales from local breweries. Good food too. Well worth a visit

New to this area of Winchester, and love the village. Two pubs in village and we first visited the more traditional of the two, The Phoenix. Nice pub lunch, and good value for money. Wouldn't go back in the evening as my wife felt a bit out of place. I loved it though. Green King, with decent beers, only tried one though. Better than the fuller pubs we have recently been visiting. Will go back to village & other pub shortly.

An excellent pub, only looks tired in comparison with the Bugle. The Greene King IPA was as good as I've tasted in years.
